Delays on SR 82 and SR 83 March 10th and 11th

EXPECT DELAYS this WEEKEND
ADOT is scheduled to close intermittently State Route 83 north of Sonoita on Saturday, March 10 and
State Route 82 east of Sonoita on Sunday, March 11.
These closures will be intermittent 30 minute delays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The closures will be for the activities of a car commercial.
This is what we get for living on Scenic Highways.
NO, the state doesn’t make money, just good advertising for our Scenic Highways (be glad we don’t live in Sedona).

(2) Choose "Other" by marking the circle next to "Other" and fill in your name in the space below.DO NOT select the 'Blogger' option, and DO NOT attempt to set up a 'Blogger' login and password. Only the forum moderator (Annie), SCCF president (Steve), and webmaster (Karen) have 'blogging' privileges (i.e. the formal privilege to post notices to the community).Comments are welcome by all “Others”.

Expect Delays on SR 82 and SR 83

Drive with CAUTION on SR 82 and SR 83

Plan extra time to get to or from Nogales on SR 82 for the next four months.There will be traffic control and pilot cars for the construction of the Santa Cruz River Bridge and installation of guard rail and “repaving” of SR 82 from MP 13 just east of Lake Patagonia to MP 3.There will be “lane restrictions” which means there will be areas of single lane traffic and the lanes over the bridge will be reduced to 11 feet wide.

For the next few months on Thursday and Saturday ADOT Nogales Maintenance will be replacing the galvanized guard rail with corten guard rail in the recent SR 83 construction project north of Sonoita. There will be flaggers for traffic control for short distances. This project was the local community choice by vote in March.

In addition, in a couple of weeks there will be an ADOT survey crew on SR 83 between MP 14 – 22 to study how ADOT can improve the rough surface of the road.

ALSO there will soon be an ADOT survey crew on SR 83 between MP 44 – 45 to begin to look at how to mitigate that dangerous curve.

Community chooses Corten guard rail

DCRC and ADOT will discuss how to proceed and let you know through this website, email (if I have yours), notices at the Post Office and Sonoita Crossroads Community meetings.
