The Patagonia - Sonoita Scenic Road Corridor Management Plan (which many of you helped implement) set up a Scenic Road Advisory Council, composed of agencies, organizations and community members, to coordinate and make recommendations for the Scenic Road.
Last year the Advisory Council established a sub-committee, the Development and Construction Review Committee (DCRC) to work with ADOT on all projects on SR 82 and SR 83. Annie McGreevy organized and chair DCRC, an advisory group consisting of Morris Farr, Steve Strom, Susan Scott, Cynthia Lunine, Rosanna Kazanjian and Jeffrey Cooper.
DCRC has been meeting monthly with ADOT at the Tucson District office and is now involved in ADOT's decision making process throughout every step of each project on State Routes 82 and 83 from inception, i.e. Planning, Pre-design, Design, Construction and Maintenance.
ADOT is committed to implementing a thorough communication process with the Sonoita / Patagonia community through the Communication and Community Partnerships Department (CCP). At this meeting the Development and Construction Review Committee wishes to formally ascertain the Forum's willingness to serve as the umbrella organization for our communication with the community. Acceptance of this role for the Forum will assure ADOT that DCRC has in place a mechanism for seeking community input and advice. This will include:
We request that members of Sonoita Crossroads Community Forum affirm the Forum's role as the community point of contact for DCRC.
