Update re Scenic Highways SR 82 and SR 83

"Development & Construction Review Committee" (DCRC) continues to meet with ADOT
DCRC and ADOT have agreed to a formal process for community input throughout all phases of ADOT projects on SR 82 and SR 83 from concept through construction and including mintenance
DCRC reviewed ADOT planning re straightening the curve near milepost 44 on SR 83
- Initial concepts ready for discussion by mid-June
- DCRC will review (a) at ADOT Tucson; (b) on site
- DCRC and ADOT will jointly bring forward concept(s) for community input
- Commentary will be sought in public meetings and via the website
New Tucson District Engineer is Greg Gentsch
On site meeting held for residents concerned re the proposed guardrail project for MP 7-12 on SR 83; project now begun
Replacement of galvanized guardrail with corten has begun on SR 83 north of the Crossroads on Thursdays/Saturdays
Communication with ADOT continues to be collegial and constructive
- They are meeting all their commitments to DCRC and the community
